Teledetección e industria pesquera
(Remote Sensing and Fisheries)

Throwing the nets into the sea used to be an act of faith because fishermen never knew how much luck they would have. Today, their reality is changing. Advances in remote sensing enable ocean observation through satellites that will help learn precisely where fishing will be good. The international program entitled Societal Applications in Fisheries & Aquaculture using Remotely- Sensed Imagery (SAFARI), is lead by Canada and has financial support from the Canadian Space Agency.
