Conference Proceedings


Abstracts from this symposium will be published on the SAFARI website. In addition, a selection of full-length scientific articles will be published in the March 2011 issue of the ICES Journal of Marine Science, as one of the nine numbers produced annually in each volume. Submitted papers are subject to the scientific and technical standards of the journal, consequently publication cannot be guaranteed. All papers will be refereed as usual and accepted or rejected by the Guest Editor and the ICES Editorial Team on the basis of referee recommendations.

Papers must adhere to the ICES JMS format found on the ICES web site in the Guide for authors section. Contributions should typically be limited to 3500 words and—including figures, tables, references, etc.—eight printed pages. In order to meet the publishing date reserved for this volume, we are obliged to adhere to a strict timeline pertaining to submission, revision, and final submission of manuscripts, including these important milestones:

  • Manuscripts must be submitted before or at the meeting and
  • Notification of authors on acceptability within 4 months and final manuscript revision within 6 months post-submission.

Manuscripts should be submitted to Peter Koeller, Guest Editor, ICES JMS, in electronic format, preferably as an MS Word document.
